The sweet chubby cheeks and big bright eyes… I’m feeling a bit sentimental tonight.  This beautiful baby girl is another of my Year to Remember babies who just had to go and become a toddler.  Good thing I got to snap a few pictures along the way

I have always loved this mama’s style and the outfits she’s chosen for each session, and this shoot was no different. I think this is the magic age for newborn photos.  Exactly why I prefer to do a newborn session within the first week!  I love how many different setups we were able to do, and in the brief minutes while we waited for this sweet girl to fall asleep, I even got some great pics of her big brothers.  Such a beautiful family!  Thanks again for having me over for this session

another great prop idea – baby doll beds! They are all over ebay and craigslist, so if you have an upcoming newborn session with me and this looks like fun to you, start searching! I can help with suggestions if you need them too

After a week long (or more?) blog hiatus!  I have been shooting and editing like a mad woman and falling behind on my posts – so here goes a few

Loved this beautiful baby girl – only 10 days old when I photographed her…

A quick reminder to my upcoming newborn sessions – if there is a certain pattern that you love, or a cool knit hat that you find in the perfect color, get it and have it available at your newborn session – sometimes the best props are not baby blankets.  The orange flower background in the first image below was a dinner napkin that I found at World Market! If you love it, chances are I can incorporate it into your session!

New baby in the family

I love this family so much – it’s hard for me to believe how much time has passed since my first session with the now big brother – I remember being there when he was first learning to crawl and how much it meant to me to really experience another family’s milestone with their new baby. And here we are again, with a new baby boy in the house! 

Here is little T,  with his cute expressions (great eyebrows on this one!) and his big brother C who is just turning 4.  Enjoy your pictures!

I love newborn sessions! Just email me at jonnyebowerphoto@mac.com if you are expecting and let me know when you are due.  Newborn sessions are best when done as soon as possible to the time you bring your new baby home from the hospital (to get the amazing curly womb-like pics), and definitely within the first 2 weeks for swaddled and sleeping pics.  My newborn sessions are available either as a Full Session or in my Year to Remember package.  Custom birth announcements are also available.

As booked solid as I become, I will always make time for newborns.  It is truly amazing to capture these first days on a child’s life in pictures.  I hear over and over again how parents regret not having professional portraits done of their children as newborns.  I would love to help you remember this fleeting time with tack sharp detail and images that are both emotional and beautiful.  True works of art to love forever, just like the new life you have created.

Another beautiful baby plan comes to a close with the birthday of this sweet sweet girl It seems only yesterday I was doing her newborn photos and wishing my good friends congratulations on their perfect new baby. Well, C & R, congrats again on making it through the first year -

Yay! Another sweet baby is born, and another Year to Remember plan begins! And she was so excited about it, that she refused to sleep! I was able to get just a few snoozing squishy cheeked pics before she was wide awake again. Somehow she knew that she was missing out on some fun
