Welcome to my Blog!

Welcome to my new blog! It is still a work in progress, so check back often to see the improvements!

My new studio in the historic square in downtown McKinney is open for business! It is a fantastic space with gorgeous natural light and lots of opportunity for great outdoor pics in urban and natural settings.

If you would like to have your custom session there or see samples of the print products I offer, or just grab a quick cup of coffee, please email me so we can meet up!

I have several specials, so email us for details at info@jbowerphoto.com

Full :)

What a perfect day, and a beautiful family with so much love, and lots of time to enjoy it all…

Let me just say how nice it was to hang out with and get to know this sweet family during their full session.  I am always so happy when families book the 2 hour session because it really gives us a chance to let kids be themselves and play, and parents can be less pressured to try to fit in as much as possible into a shorter time restraint.   Full sessions make my heart happy…

I am so proud if the many many images we captured together – there are way more than I usually retouch and your gallery is HUGE, but I just couldn’t stop myself.

I hope you love them too!

{swoon}… and a contest!

I love my Year to Remember babies so much. And this sweet boy will forever be one of my absolute favorites.  Those big beautiful eyes, chubby cheeks, beaming personality and huge happy grins made every session such a joy, and I think you can see it in the pictures.  Even his serious expressions make me swoon! I usually try to put a few pics from every session in the past year into these “graduate” posts, but I decided instead to feature a ton of pics from this last Year to Remember session instead.  I hope everyone enjoys :)

Ok, who is ready to win a free session?…

The first person to post all the names of this baby’s previous session blog posts IN ORDER in the comments box below will get a free Summer of Love Mini Session! For example – newborn session was called “i love my little babies”, next session was called “happy babies are the best”, etc – get it? This is a little scavenger hunt, so pay attention while flipping through my past blog posts and Good Luck!

We have gotten so many beautiful family pictures in the past year, but Mama specifically asked for a few more special mother & son images, so here you go Mama :)

It was such a beautiful day at the Dallas Arboretum.  Let the summer begin!

I love to end my summer Arboretum sessions with the kiddos playing at the frog fountains.

Baby J is still a little young to jump in, but he REALLY wanted to! Next time for sure ;-)

the lovely girl with the golden curls

I photographed this little girl a year or so ago, and she sure has grown since then, but of coarse she still had the same blonde curly hair and  beautiful bright eyes just beaming with life!  It was a gorgeous afternoon at the Dallas Arboretum, and this little girl couldn’t have been cuter or sweeter!  Thanks again for choosing me – hope you love the pics!

Each moment… {a beautiful family session}

Each moment of the year has its own beauty . . .

a picture which was never before and shall never be seen again.

I had such a wonderful session with this beautiful family last week.  Happy 8 months to one of my sweetest little baby plans.  I love being able to see how you have grown since our last session!

An absolute honor… and I’m already looking forward to our next! I hope everyone loves the images – I obviously did, since I am posting a million ;)

We also went to the amazing Dallas Arboretum for part of her session, and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day :)

Little Miracles & The March for Babies | Dallas baby photographer

This is a very special sneak~peek for a very special family and cause.  I first photographed these sweet girls in the NICU after they had lived there nearly 3 months, and the second time at their home,at 5 months old at their official newborn session.

It is my pleasure to get to photograph these little miracle babies for their one year birthday!

The sweet mommy of these twin girls is walking in the March of Dimes March of Babies wal on April 18th.

Please take the time to visit their page and make a donation to their team.

a message from their mommy…
” As we approach an anniversary that at one time was unimaginable, we again realize how blessed we have been. Fortunately, God is not limited by our imaginations. Our daughters, Berkley and Emory, will celebrate their FIRST BIRTHDAY on April 14, 2009. Their lives are testimonies to God′s mercy, the power of prayer and the wonders of modern medicine.

As most of you know, Berkley and Emory came into this world as a big surprise. They were born 15 weeks premature – Berkley weighed only 1 lb. 5 oz., and Emory weighed just 1 lb. 3 oz. Despite their size, they have taught us so much and have given us a new perspective on life. Among the many things we have learned, our little girls have especially taught us that it really is the small things in life that matter most. Big things only happen once in a very long while. And the big things are often just a bunch of little things grouped together. Life is too short to only savor the big moments. For us, it′s the little things like: Berkley′s first cry, the day Emory opened her eyes, installing a car seat, a bedtime story, the song we heard on the way home after both girls had been discharged from the hospital (after 123 long days), a toothless grin or a short walk down the hall just to watch the girls sleep.

So many of you are a part of our year of memories. Your prayers and support saved Berkley and Emory, and we consider you a part of our extended family. In some cases, we may have never met you, but we want you to know that we know you′re there and you have impacted our lives in ways you could not imagine.

We are so blessed to have a story to tell, and we also have a responsibility to tell it. Because you are also a part of our story, we would like to invite you to be a part of a special day for Berkley and Emory – the annual March of DImes.

For those of you who are not familiar with The March of Dimes, it is an organization that helped us through the uncharted waters of the NICU. This charitable foundation is behind so much of what is done in the NICU. We would like for you to join us in this worthy cause, whether you can do so by walking with us or by donating funds.

Your donation to the March of Dimes and/or your participation in the walk is one of those little things, but we assure you that it makes a big difference.

Please help our team help babies— click JOIN THIS TEAM at the top of the page and get started!

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.”
