She has arrived just in time for Christmas! Alina Kay Bower was born yesterday, December 22nd at 2:24pm, weighing 6 pounds 12 ounces, and 19 inches long She’s so tiny and different than what I was used to with my newborn Sofia (who was over 9 pounds when she was born!) We got to come home after only one night in the hospital, and are recovering this week during Christmas.  I couldn’t have asked for a better present. Sofia is over the moon to finally meet her little sister – she just holds her and stares… it’s a truly amazing sight Thank you all for the emails and well-wishes ) Here are some quick pics from our day in the hospital (soooo much harder to do after actually giving birth, lol!) Many many more to come, as well as updates on print orders, and general business info.

Many of you remember my post back in April of Ava’s Rule, which is what to teach your children to do if they are ever accidentally locked in a parked car. Sofia and I sent up a pink balloon to the little SuperPrincess in heaven in February of 2007 after their tragedy.

Ava’s mother Sheye, has been a very big inspiration to my photography over the past couple of years, and I would like to extend a gorgeous idea that she had, to remember & honor her daughter with a special Christmas tree for her SuperPrincess.

I emailed Sheye and asked if I could blog about this and she said that I could put her address and whomever would like to contribute an Ava decoration could. “Pink. Pretty. Sparkly. Home-made. Kid-made. Anything.”

Ava’s Tree {Part 1}

Because I have been finishing last minute orders and trying to pop out a baby! Seriously, I am pretty much on maternity leave and trying to spend my last calm days with Sofia and just taking it easy.  Thanks so much for all of your well wishes, easy labor vibes, and general patience with me as I have decided that this last week of my pregnancy not to make my top priority answering emails! *I know some of you will be proud of me for that! 

If you have an email to me that hasn’t been answered, just hang tight – I know several of you are wanting to know about starting baby plans for next year, and I am just waiting to see how it goes with this baby, you know? I plan on going through my 2009 waiting list sometime mid to late January. I always have time for newborns too – just let me know when you expecting mamas are due  

If you are one of my current families, better believe I will be emailing you all when my new baby girl is born!

If you have had a session with me recently, you have heard me talk about my henna belly idea & session with the amazingly talented Catherine Clay. Well, here it is! I am so so SO glad to have such talented friends and Catherine could not have done a better job And talk about some gorgeous evening light!

I was so nervous, and I have a new sympathy for the preggo mamas that I photograph – even though I have shot so many maternity sessions, what DO you do with your HANDS?! Well, the only thing I could think of at this shoot was to hang onto my belly  

I have only 3 more weeks to go – wish me luck!

I love every session with this sweet boy – he is one of my baby plans and has the Year In Pictures package, where I go every 3 months for his next session! We always photograph him with his little toy monkey

I am cranking out the sessions now – just a few more then I can relax and have a baby! Get your holiday orders in soon if you haven’t already! I am going to make this coming friday, November 28th my deadline for holiday orders. that gives everyone who has been procrastinating a week to decide and me a week or so to finish printing and make deliveries.  

This family was super sweet as always, and you might recognize the baby as my newborn in the blue and white room on my website splash page.

This sweet little girl is the daughter of some very dear friends and I am so proud to have taken her newborn, 3 month, and now 7 month portrait! I love watching these little ones grow and change.  Hope you like your sneak~peek C & R

You might remember these sweet kiddos from my blog a few months back. The sweet baby sleeping in a very cool chair? The older brother with the most amazing blue eyes? Well guess what- the little baby is 6 months old now, and she’s got the same amazing blue eyes!

I just love her big brown eyes and loooong eyelashes! She must have thought that modeling was hard work though, because she was ready to pass out before I was even finished with pictures, and for the first time in a long time, I got to photograph a sleeping six monther! We got so many great ones, Mama ~ enjoy!

I know her mommy is going to be so excited to see these! I loved this session and I knew I would just as soon as I saw these white-blonde curls.  And talk about a PRO – this sweet girl is 2 years old, and I know 2 year olds – she acted so much more mature! Such a good listener and had amazing self control.  Which, as some parents know, is just about unheard-of at that age.   

I am secretly hoping my new baby girl will have curls, but with mine & Philip’s hair, there’s not much of a chance of that.  She will be a blondie though, for sure, just like we were and Sofia is.  Every single time I photograph a little blonde kiddo, I get so excited to meet my new baby!
